The app causes extensive battery use and CPU tempersture rise to borderline levels

I would not recommend this app! I installed the app quite some time ago and I did not make the connection to my temperature problems until quite recently when a collegue of mine gave me the hint that I might run an application that is not well programmed and thus causes extreme CPU load.
I removed this program together with Memory Clean since those are the two that ran all the time and there you go: My temperature problems are solved! For reference here: My CPU cores went up to 99° C tops which is borderline to them actually.

So if you value your device do not install this. keep your CPUs healthy by not installing monitoring gadgets
